Artistic Wedding Cake...
posted by dancer123
"I'm getting married next spring and
have everything pretty much planned but I'm looking for a really
unique cake!! I don't know exactly what yet but our details are very
spare and modern. I am looking for someone who can take that theme
and create a statement in a cake. We are just having a cocktail party
instead of a reception so the cake will sort of be a focal point
Anyone know of anyone really artistic out there?"

The inside scoop from the people that know:
How to find the
right photographer for you...

"Selecting a photographer for your big day can be a daunting task.
With so much talent out there and so many great photographers to
see, how is it possible to choose the one who is going to capture
your wedding as you have always dreamed? Well, here are a few tips
to help you along the way…
After researching a few photographers on the internet through
referrals or local searches, make a short list of the ones whose
photos give you that warm fuzzy feeling and call to set up a
meeting. If the photos on their website evoke that kind of emotion
in you, just imagine what it will do when you’re looking at your own
photos!
Once at your meeting, consider the following:
1) Do you like the style of photography that they provide? Are you
more of a casual/candid kind of person, or do you want your images
to be very formally posed? There are fantastic photographers from
both ends of the spectrum and everywhere in between.
2) On that note, ask to see an entire proof album from the same
wedding. A collection of only their best photos from several
weddings could possibly mean they get only a few great shots at each
wedding.
3) Is this somebody that you want to have around you on your wedding
day? If you don’t mesh with his or her personality it will most
probably show in your photos and can add unnecessary stress to your
day.
4) When it comes to the format they are shooting in - be it film or
digital - consider the end product instead of the camera it comes
from. Most importantly is the product you will receive and cherish
for a lifetime, not how it was made. I once heard a great analogy
where someone said, "Mmmmm... this is a great tasting meal! You must
have some good pots!"
5) Read the contract carefully. Does everything in it sound fair to
you? Contracts are made to protect both the photographer and the
client so they shouldn’t be scary. Make sure you understand and
agree with everything written in it.
6) Do they carry backup gear? (It’s amazing how many don’t!)"
